Is there anything more over-the-top Silicon Valley than being late to make Mother鈥檚 Day dinner because a wireless meat thermometer requires a mandatory over-the-air update before it starts working?

They work really really well though. So far everything I've cooked with ours has come out perfect.

You can also get ones with beepers attached to non-smart electric ones...
