Here's an idea: people who aren't happy that this company is turning their devices into e-waste could send them back to Wink's headquarters to deal with it: Wink Labs 606 W 28th St, Floor 7 New York, NY 10001 United States

I’m curious what will happen with more of the IoS devices in the future. One of the reasons I like HomeKit is that it doesn’t need to send any information out of the network... but that wouldn’t prevent a manufacturer from bricking it nonetheless.

Honestly this will keep happening, and we'll keep throwing stuff in the trash... It's kind of depressing.

I got a GE sensor thing (temperature, light, sound, vibration, humidity maybe? Forgot) for free that used Wink, and I already couldn’t use it anymore a few years ago because they ended support for it. Fortunately I only used it like a toy and not for anything real.

Won’t they just take the tax credit then?
