The only thing more Silicon Valley was buying it
Is there anything more over-the-top Silicon Valley than being late to make Mother’s Day dinner because a wireless meat thermometer requires a mandatory over-the-air update before it starts working?

Glad someone finally invented a meat thermometer without all those unruly wires

to be fair I would not like a wired meat thermometer
What does the meater + have compared to the original meater?

Aside from asking why you'd buy this, what information could possibly be added to this device that it would ever require an update? What is this thing doing that regular meat thermometers weren't?

Note to Silicon Valley: home appliances aren’t always on, don’t design them to auto update when they are turned on because that’s ALWAYS when the user needs them.
