I literally had in my apartment I stayed at years ago a non "smart" fridge that DID close itself. The door was simply weighted so it'd swing shut if you let go of it 🙃

I pressure sensor, one arduino + and a servo could do that without Internet. But let’s just send a ping to the user using the Internet and a lot os servers that probably will be offline in just a few years
