I suppose they don't matter enough to change the advice to using SteamOS/Arch.
Also Ubuntu is far more new person (to linux) friendly than Arch

IIRC Steam used to (still does??) ship with basically its own runtime libs so doesn't matter as your not using system libs other than kernel+graphs drivers+display server

Normally quite against going all in on one product/vendor but I really like how Gitlab is turning out since I did my first evaluation of it in 2014! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as the central piece of an engineering org

You want to think of it like HTTPS certs, nothing about how trustworthy or good the website (or driver) is, more if its been tampered with or not

Xbox Series Controller pairing tips:
Double press the sync button to switch to Xbox
3 Second press the sync button to go back to the last paired bluetooth device
To go straight into bluetooth from off, hold the sync button for 3 seconds, avoids turning the Xbox on

I always wanted to switch the Streaming setup to OBS but it wouldn't work on our hardware, I think I couldn't get its need of OpenGL and Xpra to play nice
Some people hire others to work on the project or whatever the deliverable is.
But honestly if someone or some team is making something people want then why not let them get so much money, I don't think it takes away from smaller creators
