Y'all, go check out this awesome project! I was blown away by what a realistic data set KC7 has. Check out Greg and Simeon explaining the project in the livestream, and all the data and instructions are here: github.com/kkneomis/kc7
.@simandsec and I had a blast talking with @likethecoins today on the SANS Threat Analysis Rundown livestream about KC7 and how it will open doors and offer crucial experiences to folks looking to break into cyber. If you missed it, catch it here: youtube.com/watch?v=b82yaK15…

I've really been missing Australia lately, but I hope to be there virtually with my submission to @ComfyConAU. CFP closes Friday (and I'm assuming that's in their timezone, so it's even sooner for us here in North America)!
Our CFP closes on Friday. If you've been sitting on a talk idea and need help, take a look at @pink_tangent and her video or get in contact with her, @fancy_4n6 or @wan0net

We've got a problem in cybersecurity: Women make up less than 25% of the global cybersecurity workforce. Why? We surveyed some of the incredible women here at Huntress and a few of our friends in the industry to find out. hubs.ly/Q01q8DW70

If this whole #DFIR gig doesn’t work out, I can apparently make a little money as a high school math tutor. #KidsInHighSchool

Just a little shout out to folks battling depression, other internal emotional battles that are invisible to many. A big hug and encouragement for keeping up your fight, unseen. Most of us understand, even though it may not seem like it. Keep going, we see you, have support.

This Windows kernel rootkit research by @pkalnai is incredible! Easily one of the most current and useful papers on the topic in years. Highly recommended reading! #DFIR #infosec
This research was presented at @virusbtn in Prague. #VB2022 abstract: virusbulletin.com/conference… IoCs available on our GitHub: github.com/eset/malware-ioc/… 6/6

Friends, I was asked, so let's talk about why we use the term "mansplaining". It is gendered because it's referring to a behavior that is frequently performed by men in a way that causes harm, but because it is deeply tied to toxic masculinity and men's feelings of self-worth.

Feeling a little under the weather after a trip. Now it’s time to play the fun guessing game—“Cold or COVID?” Testing negative so far.

Also computers are deterministic and have rules that can be understood. People are messy and social interactions can be scary, anxious situations. Working with computers is “safe” if you are introverted or suffer from social anxiety.

The problem is that “tar -t” still has to read the entire archive. There is no ToC or index, just the headers on the individual file entries.

The real question is how many of us actually wrote a tar archive to tape in their career? (/me raises hand)

I love talking with other folks at these events, so don’t be shy. But we’re all just folks. I bet there’s plenty of neat stuff I could learn from you!
