Most Linux malware & suspicious activity can be investigated using simple & fast command line methods that are easy to use, especially under pressure. Attaching a debugger to a live process is often the last thing you want to do. ⁦@SandflySecuritysandflysecurity.com/blog/lin…

I don't know who needs to hear this right now, but not everyone is going to like you. No matter how hard you try, they won't. Stop trying and you'll be happier for it. Focus on the people who like you for who you are and drop anyone who doesn't like a bad date.

Hi folks, I'm still on the job market. I'm a hell of a linux admin, and would make a kick ass addition to your SOC or NOC teams.

Ransomware affiliate programs are the worst thing to happen to cybersecurity in a long time, perhaps ever.

Hmmm, I'm normally unimpressed with the reporting at Bloomberg, but this article made me think-- bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

One of the societal problems I worry about is our growing surveillance state. Authorities use extreme cases (like insurrectionists pillaging the Capitol) to pass laws that also allow them to track behaviors that should not be tracked or criminalized.

Well not if I relapse and begin taking controlled substances. My point is, be careful the precedents you set. You don't always get to pick "good" vs "bad" in these situations.

Cool. Now how about I search your corporate device to determine if you are attending AA or NA meetings? Even if you are in recovery you are potentially a risk to the organization.

The moral of the story though, is just because Robert couldn’t read didn’t make him dumb and just because people you know or work with can’t do things you can, doesn’t make them dumb. It probably just means they didn’t have the same opportunities as you.

I’m aware that this advice flies in the face of decades of sleep research. But guess what? You are not a test subject and the world is not a sleep lab. You are your own person, and I love you. And you are OK, even if your sleep is chaotic right now. /fin

Play video games, watch a show, follow random paths through Wikipedia articles. Whatever. The point is to not bemoan the fact that you are awake at odd hours with an active mind. Embrace it and take the extra time as a gift. 4/n

My best advice to you is simple—just embrace the situation you find yourself in and roll with it. Want to just lie in bed and let your mind wander? I’m with you. Want to read technical white papers or fiction or comics or smut? You do you. 3/n

I used to get really stressed about not sleeping at the “proper” time or not getting “enough” sleep. But this is ultimately self-defeating and just makes you more strung out and tired. 2/n

As somebody who has spent much of my adult life traveling the world, I have a lot of personal experience with sleeplessness and odd sleeping schedules. These days, the stress of what’s going on in the world is making me (and others I suspect) keep odd hours. 1/n
