Recent Congressional activity makes it very clear that in the majority BOTH parties are the party of corporate interests, the wealthy, and the well-connected. The rest is wedge-issues designed to keep people voting against their own best interests.

I’m not going to lie—Calculus this year with our daughter is a real struggle. But then I realize that if this is the worst struggle I have with our teenaged daughter, then I am really very fortunate indeed.

One of the challenges of showing up to close places like Rikers Island or enact bail reform is simply that most people just don't understand what bail is. I didn't either, so we have to keep explaining it because every time we do, people are hearing it for the first time.
