Funny how life changes. Less than 10 years ago, most people knew me as a "no kids" kind of guy. Tomorrow sees me hopping in the family minivan in the early AM and driving three teenagers to a weekend diving meet in South Florida.

Not to mention speaking to your own org effectively to get the resources you need.
Hey @attrc, @nerdiosity, @hypatiadotca — Are your teams looking for junior analysts? You should give @CygCygnus an interview!

Cloudflare's patent strategy is the most badass I've ever seen. Instead of settling and paying off patent trolls, they instead put $ towards "prizes" awarded to people in the community who can help defeat the trolls: techcrunch.com/2021/04/26/cl…

The most influential part of my career was when my former boss told me to have more confidence in my analysis, because I was right. And to ask for thoughts on an idea instead of asking for permission. I still probably would question myself if it weren’t for that interaction.
Retweet if you've ever found positive and/or reassuring feedback useful. I struggle with confidence. It has, at times, hindered my performance professionally. Getting positive and reassuring feedback has helped do better work.

“American capitalism is still rigged against the worker. Which is why business models in everything from tourism to early childhood care need to be fundamentally reconceived — & built in a way that doesn’t hinge on workers making poverty-level wages” Let’s create a better future
Stick with me here, but what if people weren’t lazy — and instead, for the first time in a long time, were able to say no to exploitative working conditions and poverty-level wages? annehelen.substack.com/p/the…

All I can think is: How starved for love do you have to be that you’ve got to resort to fantasizing about a stranger’s rage just to be able to feel like you matter to somebody?

Its a weird feeling when you figure out that people who know nothing about IT security have godlike powers over matters of IT security policy.

I became a “lone eagle” consultant because there was no long-term career path for ICs in any org I worked for. Consulting brings its own non-technical challenges into the mix, but they are ones I prefer to managing people.
Which a lot of people won’t read because of the Time’s stupid paywall

Dan Kaminsky was like a brother to me. I am the one that found him on Friday night. I want to help make sure that the legacy of @dakami is properly honored. We are starting to ideate and network around keeping his spirit alive here: forms.gle/yN3X682YYFYpfvfP9

Did @CygCygnus choose her Twitter handle because she is a fan of Canadian supergroup Rush, or super-massive singularities, or both? You’ll have to interview her to find out!

Today, I was scheduled to have an interview with a journalist. The topic was the recent growth in ransomware attacks. The interview was just cancelled, because the publishing company itself was hit with a ransomware attack.
