Truly a sad day. I’m disgusted.
People keep telling me, especially as a digital artist and art collector, that I should try to learn more about NFTs before making a judgment. But the more due diligence I put in, the clearer it becomes that NFTs are Beanie Babies on Blockchain.

XFS support has also been languishing, although that effort needs a lot of work.

More that somebody would actually have to be tasked to manage incoming PRs. The state of TSK support makes me truly sad. #FreeLibTSK

Given the RMS sh*tstorm that's been re-launching... there are other FOSS licensing options that aren't FSF-backed/GNU in origin that are just as amazing and useful, so you can pick a different or transition yours if you maintain open software. opensource.org/licenses/cate…

Tell me something cool *you* accomplished this month. It doesn’t matter if it’s getting a $10,000 bug bounty, or just managing to wake up each day.

It's just so mysterious!

It is also instructive that I have come out against RMS and others today and I am not getting this crap in my mentions.
I ran a conference that helped hundreds of people for free, yesterday. What does this anonymous person do to help humanity other than constantly make snide remarks about women and human rights on Twitter?

Cults of personality generally have reality-warping fields associated with them. RMS is surrounded by a whole cadre of enablers who ignore his bad behavior because he represents something to them that they have not been able to find in themselves.

Are you asking about RMS or Sage Sharp?

I love Linux, FOSS, and information security. I do not love the cults of personality in our industry and the rampant abuse an harrassment that seems to have become the norm. 14/n

Every time we excuse bad behavior, we signal to others that such behavior is acceptable and make our culture even more toxic. Every time we excuse bad behavior, we become part of the problem. 13/n

Every time we excuse bad behavior because of an individual's contributions to a project, we discourage many others who might have made even greater contributions. 12/n

When projects fail do some of them fail due to lack of diversity of thought on the development team? Would teams work better with greater diversity? The literature suggests this is so. 11/n

How much have we lost? The world will never know. But here's a small data point which shows what can happen if marginalized groups in FOSS are mentored the right way. 01.org/blogs/2013/open-sourc… 10/n

And if this happens to very public, valued contributors to a project, we can only imagine the chilling effect on many on the fringes of the community who MIGHT have made substantial contributions. 9/n

The upshot was that Sage, fed up with the toxic community, walked away from Linux kernel development in 2015. We are all the poorer for it. 8/n

Five years later, came the well-documented blow up where Sage had the temerity to suggest that developers submitting Linux kernel code should expect professional critiques of their work... 6/n
