My first Unix was SunOS 3.4 running on a Sun 3/160 server (Motorola 68020) and diskless Sun 3/50 workstations. 10base2 ethernet and a 1200 baud modem for email and USENET via UUCP. #bsdstart

I don't much miss the days of 10base2 networking or 1200 baud modems. But they were a marvel at the time.

I remember the first time I saw 10baseT networking and realized I'd never have to spend hours looking for a broken BNC terminator again. Joy.

I had a 3/60 on my desk for a while, and a 3/160 deskside. I still remember SunView, OpenWindows, and booting from QIC tapes to fix filesystem problems. :-)

I remember QIC tapes, but we actually booted the 3/160 from 9-track tape
