Trivia question - Does bash write to .bash_history any time other than on exit? If so, when?

@hal_pomeranz - I looked up how to make the shell append. Is that what you're asking about? Or, a condition forcing writing to it?

@hal_pomeranz - history -a in the prompt forces it at every prompt display. 😁
