Besides cost, why does anyone in #DFIR use a Windows/Linux laptop when OS X is available?

@attrc Linux: better cross-platform support (paticularly file systems), "built-in" up-to-date GNU utilities. I carry both Linux and MacOS.

@hal_pomeranz agreed on built-in. Never understood why Apple breaks so many perfectly good gnu utils in their standard builds.

@attrc I'm friends with several of the BSD folks who started Darwin, but I honestly wish they'd just used a Debian base instead.
