PSA: I am not your mentees’ mentor & you cannot foist yet another “Woman getting started in the industry” upon those of us who have carved out some success & expect us to take on your mentee. Like asking for a bug bounty when there’s none advertised. I don’t advertise mentorship.

Why don’t I mentor? So many reasons. I’m busy running a bootstrapped startup, raising two kids, & I’m introverted. Basically because I don’t like it & I don’t want to. Plenty of people love mentoring & do it happily. Like focusing research on advertised bug bounties, go to them.

You need a better boss who is tuned into what YOU want to explore & helps you spend more time doing that instead of extracting free mentorship labor from you that won’t even help your own career.
