“Don’t protest like that” + electoral rules that are fundamentally anti-democratic + a high court completely ignoring legal precedent & supermajorities of public opinion = a system that cannot be characterized as a democracy.
Hard not see this and the hysterical reaction to protests against SCOTUS as part of a continuum with stuff like the NYT OpEd board declaring that no one (important) should ever be "shunned or shamed".
A consolidating elite consensus against any kind of push-back or criticism.
