Yeah so, I spent my birthday at a monastery. Trying to get back on track. The founder was accused multiple times of rape before he passed, but they still praise him in prayer every day. It's funny all the stuff I learn from about the universe and humans, but don't find a home in.

It was a good trip and the people there were super nice, but totally ignored the whole thing. They venerate the guy. How can I learn to fight my demons from people who are totally blind to theirs?

Religion is weird, man. People gain power and a cult of personality, and almost inevitably the worst in them is magnified. I hope the worst never comes out in me from silly social media.

I've traveled the world looking for insight, and everyone wants to tell you what to give up that they do not give up themselves. They do tell you to be kind, mostly. I know that part is true. To be close to nature, to rest right, eat right. Those things are true. To let go.

Always be cautious of cults of personality. Every human is fighting their own demons. We can learn from them and love them, but we can never raise them up as paragons.

I prefer to take the pieces that mean something to me. I don't know what's right. I can only make mistakes and learn from them, and try to be empathetic.
