I don't do anything pork, so at a truck stop I asked for veggie omelette 80% into eating it I realized the chopped tomato was not undercooked, it was bacon bits 🤢

My (raised in a Kosher household) father tells the story of one of his first Foreign Service trips. He complimented his host on the excellent corned beef and was informed it was ham he’d been eating.
