Imagine a SciFi scenario where a machine could quickly/painlessly change your height/weight, visible ethnic characteristics, and sexual characteristics whenever you wanted. Would this end racism/sexism as we know it or just lay bare the fact that the real divide is rich vs poor?

I think so. This reminds me of Dr Seuss and the Star Belly Sneetches. This was my introduction to arbitrary dislike of people (I didn't know what racism was back then). This book shaped my life.
