Looking for ideas on future projects... What are some *technical* things in IT or infosec that are in your opinion "too difficult"? Stuff like patching, baselines, network analysis, etc... Where can you (or others) could use a boost?

I want to be able to draw a line that represents “RDP from this cloud to that cloud” and have it automatically spit out and upload new policy for all the filtering devices along the route, including the endpoints if applicable.

Both Skybox and Red Seal have this IMO. They are punishingly expensive though. Very few orgs have these tools, let alone the all the modules and addons that provide what you described. That said, this is a worthy project. I have added it to my list.

With "hooks" to call out scripts to do funky extra bits - for instance I keep firewall configs in a repository (15 years worth). Plus an option to "prepare" and "make it go" allowing for a delay between the two. Contemplation time isn't a bad idea.
