I once lost a lot of money in the stock market. In blue chip stocks, no less. When the bubble burst following Enron. Guess what? I learned from my mistakes and now know how to invest. If you play the market, there is risk. If you follow a Reddit group - even moreso.

The stuff I'm hearing is dumb. Good discussion with my kids though, on how to not be suckered into the allure of fast money.

(at least, if they go in on silver, they have a lot less to lose - will always be some value there)
