Our daughter’s pre-calc class was given this sheet of 59 trig identities to verify over Thanksgiving break. Her teacher says this work is important for understanding calculus. I call BS. This is just a massive amount of meaningless busywork that will help nobody.

Just draw a circle and remember Euclide théorème and the definition of sin cos and tan and you will find all of them. Mathematics are the science of how use your mind not how use your memory

Yes, I agree. Unfortunately that’s not the way our kids are being taught in the USA.

I guess it is a common issue between all western countries. Since 50 years, thé way we are teaching sciences has been changed. I compared my father math Book, mine and the book of my nephew . They are completely differents. By the way, my father never had a Home work 😂.
