The current distance learning schemes are insufficient. Most kids are not going to have the luxury of local tutors like mine have, with the knowledge and time to provide the necessary additional support.

Weekend homework roundup—Physics and Pre-Calc with the oldest, Geometry with the middle kid, coding with our youngest. It’s just a festival of STEM development with step-dad Hal!

Others have said it above and I agree—the nervousness is a sign that you care and want to do your best for this audience. The trick is to get all your butterflies going in a positive direction.

Government web sites that don’t work with mainstream browsers are a huge drain on small business owners. Firefox fail tonight at FloridaRevenue.com

Interesting conversations going on under here--many of which could be entire panel discussions at any security con.
Hey infosec peeps, what are the "dangerous ideas" you believe but don't say out loud much? One of mine: breach victims are often partly responsible for being breached. Another: there aren't enough skilled folks in this biz. We need to be doing more to fix this.

People are going to get sick, some are going to die. Our school systems will suffer for years. And it was all preventable. Remember this when you vote--at the local, state, and national level. /fin

Are there going to be lawsuits out of this debacle? Of course there are. And where is the money going to come from? Our already underfunded schools and counties. 8/n

But now we have a unfunded, patchwork system that amounts to little more than throwing webcams at teachers and telling them, "We'll figure it out as we go along." 7/n

Because our school system was forced to offer in-person, distance, and "hybrid" solutions for teaching this year, all classes are suffering. If we had spent the summer planning to do distance learning correctly, we likely would have had better outcomes all around. 6/n
