We're roughly 2.5hrs from this meeting starting-- I should be talking in about 3hrs from now
There are good things about the virtual world we are living in. I was able to help out my friends at the Boulder Linux User Group by agreeing to present at their Thursday meeting. "Quick Wins in Linux Forensics" meetup.com/Boulder-Linux-Use…

I had to make a written statement for the Met and it was somewhat hilarious to see the poor detective wince every time she hit one of my American spellings in the text.

Wow, @zoom_us allows me to load attendees from CSV for single Webinars, but not for recurring events? WTF? That's just stupid.

What do you need to know about Linux security?

Trying again for the weekday crowd. Has anybody else seen EXT3 file systems with 256 byte inodes and EXT4-like timestamps with creation dates and fractional seconds? When did this happen? I’m seeing it on SLES 12.4.

I know—one of the weirdest things I’ve seen. I can find no documentation on the web discussing back-porting this functionality into EXT3.
SLES 12.4 system, EXT3 file system with 256 byte inodes and creation time (btime) timestamps just like EXT4. WTF?

Just wanted to say that @PoweredbyOWC never disappoints. Solid products, clear documentation. If you live in the Apple ecosystem, you should know this company.

Woo! My home state of Florida! Going for the double dip of leading the nation in COVID infections and voter disenfranchisement.

A key fact of this case which is too often ignored: Florida *does not know how much court debt ex-felons owe.* And it has no intention of figuring it out. The state has forced ex-felons to pay up—then refused to tell them how much they must pay. slate.com/news-and-politics/…

RIP John Saxon, yeomanlike stalwart of the B movies of my childdhood. I will rewatch “Battle Beyond the Stars” in your honor.

Do you have independent reporting or confirmation of this that you can link to?

Correct. I was able to split the screen in half and have one computer on one half (HDMI) and a second computer on the other half (Display Port) without any special software. There are two DP and one HDMI connector that you can mix and match with.
