@4n6woman My ex had this thing where licorice (found in lots of teas) caused BP spikes. It's a rare but known issue. Not sure if it's yours.

@codeslack @xcbsmith Pretty much-- ~/bin, /bin, /usr/bin, /usr/{local,X11}/bin (repeat for sbin dirs), /opt/*/bin and you're done ;-)
@codeslack @xcbsmith GUI logins typically do not invoke a login shell in my experience.

@codeslack @xcbsmith Right. Always set PATH explicitly without reference to previous $PATH to avoid duplication.

@xcbsmith @codeslack Depends on the environment-- if logging into a GUI console, .bash_profile may not be read at all
@codeslack @xcbsmith .bashrc because it's read even if the shell is not a login shell (e.g. opening a new terminal window)
