@codeslack You're thinking of "chmod g+s" on the parent dir, but that only controls the group owner of new files. See also umask...

@codeslack @gutterchurl This is very odd. "$" works with bash v3.2.25 on my CentOS box but not with bash v4.1.5 on my Ubuntu system.

@codeslack Btw, this does not strike me as a difficult script to write in bash. Did you want a Windows version?
@codeslack Or try "magic number" first to figure out file type and fall back to file extension if you can't figure it out.

@lythander Truly I don't see one. OTOH if enough people start voting for alternative candidates, maybe we'll see more choice.
@unstatusthequo Don't really see myself voting for Ron Paul either. Need to do some research on alternative party candidates.
