The simplest example (that conveys your message) is the best one. Respect your audience's intelligence, but also respect their time.
Spent a bunch of time working on a really neat/complicated example for an upcoming talk. Then realized a simpler one would be better...

@pmoriarty Our school was that way too, but I took the typing class anyway since I'd already chosen computers as a career path...
@davehull In high school (early 80's) I actually took a typing class on IBM Selectrics. Two spaces after period was beaten into us.
