Hard to believe it's been five years already. Still feels like this to me:
Today is the five year anniversary of OpenAI. Super proud of what the team has accomplished in the first five years. Pretty sure the next five are going to be remarkable.

We launched pricing at the beginning of the month, but remain in private beta — still have a lot to build, learn, and figure out in terms of how to responsibly scale our technology. If you ping me (gdb@openai.com) with your use-case, I may be able to accelerate an invite.

This is a pretty cool tool — an OpenAI-powered Jupyter notebook replacement which uses natural language rather than Python to specify queries:
Meet Marz. Like @ProjectJupyter, but closer to Earth. No-code data notebook to go from 'natural language' question to SQL to insight, powered by @OpenAI's GPT3. Built with @barrnanas @idavidgoldberg @imfanjin as part of @beondeck's Build Weekend!

OpenAI applied to brainstorming:
.@OpenAI’s GPT-3 is a bit like autocomplete—a shockingly good autocomplete. Here’s what happened when this tool joined a brainstorm alongside (human) designer @bensyverson: ideo.in/3m5zO5A

An OpenAI-powered tool for writing ads for your product — now looking for beta users. Built by my brother Matt, who inspired me to get into computers in the first place and has in several cases gotten better results out of GPT-3 than our paper.
We built an interface around #GPT3 to create markket.ai, a tool to computationally produce text-based ads for products to different contexts. We're expanding our pool of limited beta users, check it out!

One lesson from early @stripe: if you break users but have an excellent response and communication, they will feel *grateful* for the whole experience. Some of the best (accidental I swear!) marketing we ever did.

I remember back in the day talking to @gdb on the IRC channel to debug an issue. Amazing work ethics from day 1.
