Robots blindly crash into walls because their Automated Interpolation doesn't include any data points from inside the wall. Magical genies like any AGI have their own whims and so will deliberately fnord you over while remaining inside the contract terms.

Did you ask for a wizard? Oh.. your talking about boring magic and boring AI. booooo. Simulated AI is the future of interactive art. Thats easier to understand and will help PR which the academic AI field seriously needs to secure the resources for real progresss.
