Even in machine learning, as important as knowing how to listen to the data is knowing when to ignore it.

it's all signal and noise-- we poets get a lot of great signal from absolute nonsense, which is great for camouflaging signal, but in the end strict stuff like Morse Code is best for telegraphic clear signals in a noisy medium

1/2 I enjoy the errors in my scruffy thinking. I kind of live for them. I also want a slower life, with plenty of regular natural errors in it. For me this is one of the joys of life - having time to mess up but savour it. I find most machines illusory in their usefulness.

2/2 I prefer to cut grass with a hand mower, I prefer to cycle over using a car, I prefer to read over tv with a paper book in my hand. I just can't see how intelligent machines can help improve life. An improved life is a slow life with everything done by hand, cuts and burns.
