The OpenAI approach to making AI progress is to build working systems that can do something that was previously impossible. Success requires top-notch engineering; every week I find myself charting the depths of a new technical problem that I hadn't previously even considered.
AI engineering (as opposed to AI science) is underrated, even today

Hi @gdb, it is fascinating what is being created every day with OpenAI; however, it is sad that it is not yet expanding its accessibility around the world; I believe that increasing its reach in more countries will improve the system faster.

My approach: building systems capable of causal reasoning with guarantees that can solve all sort of planning tasks and even detect when not solvable, a significant barrier for current statistical inference solutions, as illustrated in MiniGrid, NetHack
