Seeing a lot of posts speculating that our results at The International show that today’s AI just can’t hope to match humans at strategy. Our interpretation is we have yet to reach the limits of current AI technology. Learning curves haven’t asymptoted just yet!

Note: would be quite a cool finding if our current approach does *not* scale to the level of the top human pros. But this week's matches were a snapshot of current progress, not what's possible.

Current AI is like invention of Concrete. People started using it to build bigger and bigger structures until the structures started to collapse under its own weight. So we haven’t reached that limit with DL yet. Not sure what will be the “Steel” of AI.

With the amount of REPS AI5 gets, shouldn't they have mastered it yet? Or just filling themselves isn't enough?

Super impressive even just seeing how it forces human players to play a drastically different game. Can’t wait to see how it continues to learn!

So much progress in such short time! AI Lost but It played very close matches, I would say AI is getting super close to human strategy, at least in this type of tasks/context. Keep Up the great work!
