Focus is often on OpenAI Five's victories, but losses are what drive our progress. On Aug 9th, we were crushed in a best-of-3 against @teamsecret (#4 team in pro circuit)—but won game 1 as Secret adjusted to Five's playstyle. Last week lost to several non-pro teams. Tomorrow...?

The pro Dota players exploit OpenAi late game weakness, the longer the game goes on the weaker OpenAI becomes, and they become overfarmed to the point they troll OpenAI. Maybe team secret have told the other teams OpenAI weakness before, Dendi did not get that chance in his 1v1.

I'm excited to see the work you've done so far. I agree , win or lose in the international you're learning something as well as showing what AI is capable of. Also possibly inspiring other people to look into it by using a popular game like DotA 2. :).

If you win TI this year will you consider your objectives fulfilled and stop the project or do you plan on working on it still in the future

I believe you guys will do well. Just have fun and learn from the mistakes/bugs to improve the system for next year's international.

Been a busy few weeks :). Human matches are our best way to tell if we are actually making progress, since Five vs Five games may not always tell us how we're improving relative to humans.
