We've found that it's possible to target GPT-3's behaviors to a chosen set of values, by carefully creating a small dataset of behavior that reflects those values. A step towards OpenAI users setting the values within the context of their application: openai.com/blog/improving-la…

A visualization of "pose" in the neuron that responds to the word "Celebration", in our latest neural net: openai.com/blog/multimodal-n… This network has neurons that respond to the same concept in images, text, and drawings — surprisingly reminiscent of multimodal neurons in humans.

GPT-3 for literary critique:
GPT-3 has mostly garnered attention for generating new text, but it's just as powerful at understanding. I recently used GPT-3 in my writing critique group: having it read and give its take on the themes in each of our stories.

I don't have an academic degree. @ilyasut has a PhD (though dropped out of high school!). We do not select on the basis of academic credentials, but on evidence of exceptional ability.
Replying to @gdb
will you hire someone experienced in ML and MLops as a team lead but without any academic degree? If you do, I will be happy to apply to you. P.S. I'm not afraid of being rejected in an interview but not having an academic degree, I think it is not a proper cause.

We run one of the largest Kubernetes clusters in the world. Having one massive cluster lets us iterate rapidly at small scale, and also scale up large models without changing code. Tremendous effort by our supercomputing team (who is hiring: openai.com/jobs/!).

Hard to believe it's been five years already. Still feels like this to me:
Today is the five year anniversary of OpenAI. Super proud of what the team has accomplished in the first five years. Pretty sure the next five are going to be remarkable.
