I teach data.table to my students at lecture 2 of R class right after teaching them how to subset a vector. Once they get it, they do everything with it. It is amazing to see them share my enthusiasm after understanding how powerful this package is when used properly.
The more I use #rdatatable, the more I find it reliable and powerful in dealing with huge and complex data manipulations in corporate environments. Thanks for everyone's hard work!

I recall a special @TheEconomist had in the 1980s predicting some of this -- still have a paper copy somewhere.
And just like that, CRAN passed the 15k packages mark!
A big and heartfelt Thank You! to all the CRAN maintainers and package developers behind this!

Can one "mute" on @LinkedIn ?
There are "thought leaders" whose posts I could do without, but which appear in my timeline via people 'liking' them. The best I found is to unfollow the friends liking those posts.
Is there a better way? Besides "delete your account"?
For everyone complaining about the install/compilation time of #rstats packages on Linux... A friendly reminder that pre-compiled binaries are available on Ubuntu thanks to @marutterstat’s “c2d4u3.5” PPA.
Here’s @eddelbuettel with a video walkthrough.
