This… looks… properly amazing!?!? 🤯A *fully open source* platform for writing papers in markdown, including dead-simple bibliography management, LaTeX math rendering, equation referencing…
Our paper "Open collaborative writing with Manubot" is now available at @PLOSCompBiol. #Manubot uses Markdown + GitHub for continuous publication. doi.org/10.1371/journal.pcbi… 1/8

It was #dplyr which brought me into #rstats. The easy-to-remember verbs got me going quickly. Now I stay because of #rdatatable and #rcpp

That is indeed a wonderful service. Had such an upload this morning. "What They Forgot To Tell You" : it only works for packages with a) few to no reverse deps or b) real system deps or libs acting up on other OSs. So do not extrapolate. CRAN is of course still awesome.
The CRAN team have done great work to automate the process of updating packages — I just had an update go through in 20 minutes from submission to publication. Truly a fantastic experience! #rstats

Great article about the post-playing career of one of the most efficient strikers ever, Birgit Prinz, who is back helping the very team she was on. Choice quote "It’s as if Zinedine Zidane retired and returned to France’s national team as a nutritionist." Maybe he will :)
Birgit Prinz — two-time World Cup champion, three-time World Player of the Year, and undoubtedly one of the greatest women's soccer players of all time — is back at the World Cup in a role you'd never expect: staff psychologist for the German national team nytimes.com/2019/06/21/sport…
