Better to ask on the #rcpp-devel list than here but here you go:
> Rcpp::cppFunction("NumericVector myrep(double val, int n) { return rep(val, n); }")
> myrep(NA_real_, 3)
[1] NA NA NA
> myrep(3.14, 2)
[1] 3.14 3.14

Hint: Search among unit tests.
Not alchemy, just careful use of standard recipes:
For 1) and 2) you want to learn about the -v and -w switches to Docker.
For 3) as _you alter the container_ you need to write it out again which `docker commit` does.

I keep getting emails from NASA where they request I inform them about curl. They can land on Mars, sure, but I think they have some other issues left to sort out...
Look what a happy smile kiddo #1 has! High time for a "when I was your age it was uphill both ways in the snow" rant as nobody sent a note about my grad school cohort. Then again, there was no @Twitter either as @timberners_lee was about to unveil these hypertext tubes. 🙃
Thank you to our amazing graduate students for being the glue that holds @TheSquishyLab together, venturing out into the great unknown of scientific research to make incredible discoveries every day! We appreciate you! #WithGRADitude
The @JazzOnThisDay account remains one of my absolute faves on this site, especially when combined with a streaming subscription. I sometimes wish @RhysTranter and @NateChinen would meet and I could just sit in a quiet corner and soak it all in.
Also, the #SoulMovie was ace.
From now on, each of my CRAN #rstats package releases will also be available as an NFT providing a unique blend of #fintech and #opensource.
Take that @github sponsors program!
Here's a progressive coupon for my book, C++ Best Practices, good for 36 hrs from now.
The coupon starts at 9.99 USD. For each retweet this gets, I'll reduce the price by 0.01 USD.
The maximum reduction is 700 retweets @ 2.99 USD for the book!

And as usual the @Debian package has been prepared and uploaded (but to 'experimental' as a release freeze is ongoing). The usual CRAN 'backports' for @Ubuntu and @Debian should be coming shortly thanks to @marutterstat and @JohannesRanke#rstats
New Post: An Ode to Stable Interfaces, and Praise To Base R and R Core
In which I run code I posted fourteen years ago: it works unaltered. That should be cherished, celebrated--and encouraged. We need more examples like this.

What an absolute legend. May he rest in peace.
Ran within sight of him during one or two of my Boston (where everybody is pace-sorted), and he was of course not only a generation older than me, but pushing his son in the runner-chair. Made it look effortless. Beyond impressive.
#arXiv [stat.CO] Binary R Packages for Linux: Past, Present and Future, by @eddelbuettel and myself, arxiv.org/abs/2103.08069. We review efforts over the last 20+ years, and present a PoC of an automated and scalable system with full #rstats integration via BSPM.
