Of course, the problem with that is that you cannot take advantage of platform-based compilation-time optimizations (like -march=native) for #rstats packages.

It's always SO painful when I need to install tidyverse pkgs to test something (I don't use it myself) :( Rare enough that they often aren't already there and expensive enough that it completely disrupts whatever I'm doing
