The number of people out on bicycles this weekend in Chicago makes me think that this city could *eclipse* London or Paris on bike usage if it invested in safe infrastructure. The reason why? Americans are rich enough to already own bikes and the space to store them

Yeah it's quite depressing. The scheme for low income Chicagoans is great, but it's dumb that e-bikes cost as much as a taxi unless you sign up for a membership

Yeah the per minute fees are quite high, even with a membership. I worry about that less, because I still invariably pay for an e-bike even when I could use a standard one for free

DOT now gets some small things right. One example is protecting the bike lanes with these small concrete barriers to avoid encroachment from parked cars. Sadly not everywhere: Lake St is still a mess in parts. And of then of course all the potholes...
