Hi @eddelbuettel I'm trying out {r2u} for the first time, but I'm seeing some really slow download speeds. Do you have any idea what the issue might be?

Still warp speed ("15.1 MB is 0s" and 2803 kB in 0s") for me from us-east-1 as per the screen shot. So issue may be local to you? Also, please use a repo issue ticket and not social media for such questions.
