We are currently struggling to create a replication archive because a dependency has dropped off R and requires configuring Fortran to compile. The paper isn't even published yet!

We need to have a deeper conversation about the fact that open science is not totally compatible with open source statistics (at least the way we do it now). We can’t have replication files failing because of dependency issues 9 layers deep or whatever.

You could stick your name into DESCRIPTION and use the RHub builder to build it - - it has Fortran etc set up and should Just Work (TM).

Oh great idea thanks! I would love to hear your thoughts on how to make replication files more robust generally as well.
