#rstats experts out there: Are binary R packages archived anywhere? I'm using #renv to provide a pre-configured R environment for my forthcoming book. CRAN seems to archive only source packages, which raise many compilation issues when #renv restores the project environment.

No. But many people use @Docker for that purpose, and the paper by @nordholmen et al gives you ample pointers to project / packages helping _you_ to 'freeze' and 'conserver' _your_ #Rstats setup today or at other times. Or you can do it 'manually'. journal.r-project.org/archiv…
