#rstats devs: I know I can't include a Remotes section in the DESCRIPTION of a package to submit to CRAN, so how should I deal with Suggests that are github packages? I moved all the big demo files and python stuff into suggested packages (and test for them with requireNamespace)

Brooke and I cover that in a June 2017 piece in the R Journal (but web site down today). In short, `drat` can set up a repo for those packages, and the 'Additional_repositories' field can point to it. As your code is already conditional, that may be all you need. #rstats

Thanks! So I can't just take the github packages out of Suggests and use requireNamespace to tell people where they are? I guess I'm starting step 500 in preparation for submitting to CRAN ;)

Oh no, I have to put the tarball of webmorphR.dlib in a github repo for the drat solution and one of the reasons it's not in my CRAN submission is it's got some dlib files that push the 100MB limit. The whole thing is never going to fit in one file :(
