Hey #rstats + container folks, any tips or examples installing packages from binary on Linux? I'm making a Singularity container. Source installs are slow + I hear binary is faster. I tried install2.r, but it fails to install some packages in R 4.0.2, like {{parallelly}}.

That is an underspecifiied request: which distro and release? Say you use the PPA by Michael then ... you _may_ hit the fact that ~ 5k r-cran-* packages is less than 17k at CRAN. So some will be missing. More pointers here, and I recommend bspm:

This use case of _effortlessly_ getting #Rstats package binaries onto @Ubuntu has been covered in a few blog posts (and videos). You can start here and scroll down: dirk.eddelbuettel.com/blog/c… We also wrote about bspm here: arxiv.org/abs/2103.08069

Thank you! I'll take a look. I'm new to containers—will try to specify: OS: RedHat 7.9 (Linux 3.10.0) container script: github.com/adviksh/explore-b… The script works for pkgs listed. But If I add pkgs, like {{furrr}}, littler pulls an older version than my code requires.
