I must ask... Surely there was at least one day in 7 years when you had a flu so bad you couldn't get out of bed, or you spent the entire day traveling or without internet. How?! Do you "cheat" by doing a dummy commit on some days or modifying history? Or is this 100% real?

It's real. It includes international travel (with laptop to commit to, and push to remote later), some 1 1/2 day relay races, one four-hour hospital admission (long story...) and what not. But no cron jobs besides the CRAN Repo Policy bot.
