Same via the command-line with `update.r` from my `littler` package. Often daily on multiple machines. For years now.
CRAN is a gift. Why not enjoy it daily?
And with `r2y` it takes seconds for Ubuntu binaries with complete and full dependencies.

I have parts in two for work repos (mostly without arrow build dependencies), and more bits in other places (incl "failed" attempts of "fast" `data.table` exports: one must materialize).
And I have been pointing several people at nanoarrow for a while now. It's good and handy.
`anytime::anydate` has done this for years without requiring a format (which leads its heuristic to reject your second example: if you use eight digits it assumes yyyymmdd). There is also 'rodney dangerfield danger' when mixing mm and dd order but ISO 8601 (+ variants) is safe.
'Database' is broad term but I have five hundred plus commits to the spamassassin 'filter' file I use (a public copy of ~/.spamassassin/user_prefs)

Always meant as one possible cog in a larger network so feel free to remix and extend.
The sorting part depends on your so-called 'locale' and it still depends on how this is provided: see `help(locales)`
R shields us from a lot of things. It cannot shield us from the fact that we do need a computer to run it, and that computer needs an OS. #rstats
Whoops: that should of course have been 'SingleCellExperiment`. See `fortunes::fortune(112)`.
To make up, here is a link to gif showing the complete installation of `SingleCellExperiment` and `Seurat` in thirty seconds with all dependencies:

Congratulation -- and #r2u (and its currently 240+ file subset) has been converted to @BioConductor release 3.17 with #Rstats 4.3.0.
E.g. can install SingeCellExperiment and Seurat via one `install.packages()` to get 151 binaries in 30 seconds. Simple. Fast. Reliable.
That is not correct. R 4.3.0 (for x86_64) has been available since Fri from my PPA and since Fri or Sat via the std 'backport' by Michael that is mirrored at CRAN. (The directory has been names jammu-cran40 for the API change at R 4.0.0). Discuss at r-sig-debian please. #rstats
