Excellent. As usual we created the
- official @Debian r-base package
- PPA builds for @Ubuntu 20.04, 22.04
- rocker/r-base:{4.2.1,latest} containers
- official @Docker r-base container (PR merged today)
providing four ways to enjoy #Rstats 4.2.1 pre-made
#rstats 4.2.1 "Funny-Looking Kid" (source version) has been released. (The truly impatient can find it in cran.r-project.org/src/base/…, others need to wait for CRAN to update)
Is there a German word for the feeling when you added a nightly @GitHub Action using `valgrind` months ago, it comes up clean for weeks each time, and the moment you have a new CRAN upload your #RStats check there report tickles a fat red *valgrind*?
Asking for a friend ....
Fantastic column titled 'Work, the wasted years':
"Shakespeare wrote “King Lear” in the time an average office worker spends changing font sizes during their career."
economist.com/business/2022/…
How it started. How it's going.
We have 500+ fewer package on CRAN than at '19k packages' in March.
Enforcing quality levels is harsh. We all hate rejection (from CRAN, journals, conferences, ...) so this is not popular. But it helps ensure quality. #rstats
Hey, look, round number at CRAN!
A big, big thank you to the CRAN maintainers who are volunteers putting together an unparallel repository with unmatched quality guarantees, year in and out. Very much appreciated!
(Even if #RStats package authors like myself grumble at times.)
`r2u` is indeed an option. The 1st tweet for `r2u` showed `tidyverse` via a 1-command install on Ubuntu 20.04 (see below), it shouldn't fail on `broom`. If you have something reproducible, can you open an issue at the eddelbuettel/r2u repo? I use 22.04 day-to-day with it too.
#RStats 4.2.1, the first patch release for the R 4.2.* series, will drop June 23 as @pdalgd just posted to r-announce and r-devel. Details will appear in due course at the top of the usual page developer.r-project.org/
Installing packages `sf readr xlsx sqldf tmap DT` with one command in the `r2u` demo container: one command, all binaries, all dependencies, and in seconds (cf github.com/rocker-org/rocker…) Works the same way on your Ubuntu server, desktop, laptop cloud instance

You probably want `solve()`:
solve package:base R Documentation
Solve a System of Equations
Description:
This generic function solves the equation ‘a %*% x = b’ for ‘x’,
where ‘b’ can be either a vector or a matrix.
Next person b%^&ching about CRAN. read this too. Noone claims removals (a few of late) and iterations (for uploads) are painless (I have been furious at times too...) but in aggregate what we get is *so valuable and unparalleled*. #ThankYouCRAN#RStatsbleepingcomputer.com/news/se…
