Congratulations! The @Debian package has been updated, and an unofficial @Ubuntu 20.04 package is available via my PPA. Also, RQuantLib once again reinstalls unchanged.
Great find by @Enchufa2 of a decade-old (!!) post describing the very hard problem he and e.g. @marutterstat have done the most to improve considerably. And his `bspm` package (and Copr work) is a big leap ahead (cf my blog for details).
Also, the thread is fun ;-)

It's real. It includes international travel (with laptop to commit to, and push to remote later), some 1 1/2 day relay races, one four-hour hospital admission (long story...) and what not. But no cron jobs besides the CRAN Repo Policy bot.
And @Debian packages are being uploaded now, with @Ubuntu to follow soon thanks to @marutterstat -- and #RockerProject base containers a little later.
I like doing this on Saturday. Keep it here, cute numbers or not.

And for a tweet tri-fecta: an BSPM example using `rocker/r-bspm:20.04` to install the (sometimes gnarly) `rgdal` package in ONE command in about ONE minute using binaries. Fast, easy, cheap, reliable.

/cc @RogerBivand @edzerpebesma
We have been providing Rocker Project containers for this and they rock as they are already setup for binaries:
rocker/r-rspm:{18.04,20.04} # no Debian for RSPM
rocker/r-bspm:{18.04,20.04,testing}
Thanks to @urganmax for mentioning BSPM.

Also since yesterday on CRAN as part of littler:
installBSPM.r
installRSPM.r
Both take R package names and install binaries---fast!
For BSPM: full dependencies (~ 4600 CRAN .deb binaries), for RSPM across more OSs but w/o deps.
I use BSPM in CI now.
