Glad you like it--this is why I mentored a @GSoc student to create a @postgresql package for #rstats back in 2008, or a decade ago.
RPostgreSQL is still going strong, but like any other Open Source project could do with fresh love and enthusiasm. Maybe you, maybe another reader.
Just started using @postgresql on my @ubuntu machine! I now have two loves, SQL and R. And the best yet is you can run R in SQL! #rstats #SQL #postgresql #RinSQL

There are several volunteers for different Linux distros; eg @marutter covers @Ubuntu, based on / extending what I do in @Debian -- and I do think that these two are best supported.
@cboettiger and I use both for the Rocker containers for @Docker, look there for more tricks.

Did hat a few years ago with just this as the example on the repo page:

where `msg` may summarise your simulation run.
