"Wort" MT @StanCarey There must be a German word for the assumption that there must be a German word for something.

@joshua_ulrich Well, Rcpp 0.6.0 in Nov 2008 was the rebirth and hence its "2.0". But that leaves me "Visual Rcpp" or some other prank :)
C'mon don't give people ideas! ♻ @joshua_ulrich: @hadleywickham it would be so awesome. Dirk is fun to tease. :)

I knew it! MT @hadleywickham I am tempted to release an underscore package that corrects all base R functions just for Dirk ;)

@johnmyleswhite Luckily. But with p going to one, @hadleywickham will eventually release a package containing it.

@johnmyleswhite Either one is fine, rownames is a little nicer and both are preferable to a very icky row_names.

@drewconway The record shall need to be corrected at times when you young ones are oh so sloppy with terminology. Kids these days...

@drewconway Not to nitpick, but John Chambers won the Software Systems award (for his work on S) as the ACM names individuals.

@ananelson But you can also start R via 'R --no-save ...' as @hadley already pointed out.
@ananelson Yeah, it is one of those things, see "‘save.defaults’, ‘save.image.defaults’: see ‘save’." in ?options, hence ?save too.
@ananelson Err, not so. There are: q("no") won't save, and there is options("save.default"). Likewise 'R --no-restore[-data]' at startup.

@statalgo @chlalanne But he got the reference to the ESL bible wrong on that syllabus page!
Where can I sign up? ♻ @johnmyleswhite: @drewconway @statalgo @fonnesbeck Wait. Are other people making fun of Drew for being famous now?

@drewconway One of my favs is this one: "<html><body></body></html>" Who needs 140 chars anyway?

@drewconway Very nice -- but you may want to work on the default page for labs dot drewconway dot com :)

@hadleywickham sorry, my bad, I shot too quickly from the hip: it was matlab::reshape. My bad.
Replying to @hadleywickham
@hadleywickham It says reshape 0.8.4 which is the current CRAN version.
Replying to @hadleywickham
@hadleywickham reshape(), hiding stats::reshape(). But I am not sure if I loaded reshape or reshape2 as I appear to have both here.

@wesmckinn Yes you can, but putting the burden on the (package) user is "Doing It Wrong". Just say no to shadowing.

@wesmckinn I load his package, it sits higher in search and shadows and existing function using the same name. Bang.
