Indeed. As R^4 post #034 stated: "Less is more".
Fewer components is better. Faster deployment in usage and CI, and likely less breakage and greater overall reliability. Clear win for vignettes, testing, and much more. #rstats

Have started to play around with #rstats {simplermarkdown} after seeing @eddelbuettel highlighting it. Looks very promising. Would dramatically reduce build-time dependencies for packages that need a markdown vignette builder.
